British American Tobacco Introduces E-Cigarette Vapes And Nicotine Bags Vending Machines in The UK

According to Better Retailing, British American Tobacco plans to introduce vending machines for e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches in pubs across the UK.

 

The company is hiring at least 12 representatives focused on on-site consumption scenarios, aiming to "ensure new locations for the vending machines and other business development solutions to ultimately increase the sales volume of specific BAT-related products."

 

Target areas include Basingstoke, Birmingham, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Coventry, Crawley, Edinburgh, Exeter, Maidstone, Reading, Royal Tunbridge Wells, and Sevenoaks.

A six-month trial contract is set to begin on June 24 and "is planned to extend into 2025 and even longer."

 

A spokesperson for British American Tobacco UK stated, "British American Tobacco UK is pleased to be involved in a project that sells our Vuse and Velo brands through age-restricted vending machines. At British American Tobacco, our ambitions are bold: to create a better tomorrow. We will achieve this by reducing the impact of our business on health, including through engaging adult consumers who use our alternative nicotine products. Electronic cigarette vending machines represent an exciting opportunity to further our goals."

 

In response to concerns about underage use of tobacco products like disposable vapes, refillable vape kits, nicotine pouches, British American Tobacco stated that their "Vape vending machines will employ state-of-the-art age verification technology to ensure this fundamental principle is upheld."
